At the very outset I congratulate you all for allowing our Reliance College Jr. to complete a very glorious decade. In spite of numerous problems and obstacles and without your kind cooperation and best wishes, it would not have been possible for us to reach the height where it is today, standing proudly like a sentinel with all illuminating light of knowledge in its hand. When we look back, we see the college starting with a few handful of students under the leadership of Late Rupak Kr. Gogoi, the founder figure of this temple of knowledge. His foresight told him the utter need of an English Medium Junior College in Golaghat District. Till then, after passing out the matriculation examination, a large section of English medium students has to go out to other district in search of English medium college/ Jr. College. So, Reliance College Jr. was started in the year 2003 under the aegis of Reliance Education Research Society, a society registered under society Registration act XXI of 1860, offering Science and Arts stream, and since the very beginning, the college has been showing excellent results. In the year 2010, we also added the Commerce stream. Today, Reliance College is a complete educational institution with library, playground, science laboratory, canteen etc., with more than 600 brilliant and active students studying hard in an attempt to excel in every aspect of life. At the same time, I can proudly say that one of our students, Miss Ananya Saikia became a topper in the 2012-13 All Assam Higher Secondary School Examination in Arts Stream and an another bright student Miss Prerona Hazarika secured the 8th position in the 2015-16 All Assam Higher Secondary School Examination in Science Stream and it is a matter of great achievement not only for this college but also for the entire district and we are committed to maintain this tradition of good quality education in the future also.

 I give my special thanks to all the teachers of the college as they have toiled hard over the years to develop overall personalities of the students so that in future, they become righteous citizens of the country capable of shouldering the responsibilities of the society and the country as well.

 It is my great pleasure to inform you that you that we have grand plans in other fields of education like law, medical, architecture etc which will be a reality very soon. Coming towards the end, I offer my sincere gratitude to all the guardians, students, our teaching staff and all those well wishers for keeping faith on this education institution.

The establishment of Reliance College Jr., the first English medium junior institution in Golaghat District in 2003 was the outcome of the efforts of the great visionary late Rupak Kr. Gogoi, son of the former Finance Minister of Assam, late Jiba Kanta Gogoi. In February of that year I retired as Principal of D. R. College and Rupak Gogoi requested me to help him realize his noble mission. I, with my long experience in academic matters, accepted his request and gave him a helping hand to fulfill his cherished goal. The consequence is the establishment of this prestigious institution of Golaghat District.

At the very outset there were two streams only – Arts and Science. The first batch of students appeared in the H.S. 2nd Year Final Examination of AHSEC in 2005. The results were up to the satisfaction of all the guardians and the well-wishers. But alas! The founder did not live to get this excellent performance of the college. He was murdered brutally in February of that year. Since 2005, the college does not has to look back and shows brilliant results in the final examinations of all the subsequent years. In 2013 one student got 1st position in Arts Stream among all the students of Assam in the Final Examination.

 In the year 2016, a student of science stream, Miss Prarona Hazarika secured 8th position in H.S. 2nd year Final Examination of AHSEC. My joy knew no bounds because I was waiting for this achievement of our college in science stream for long thirteen years.

 After Rupak Gogoi’s sad demise, his elder brother Sri Deepak Kr. Gogoi took charge of the college as its Chairman after his sad dismiss. He is also very enthusiastic for further expansion of the college both horizontally and vertically. The commerce stream was added in 2013. Now, he is trying his level best to introduce degree course in Arts stream. May his effort bear fruit. Moreover with well-planned idea he has been developing the infrastructure of the college. Now, with a beautiful look the college stands tall among the junior college of the district.

 I pray to god for further progress of the college with shining result in all the competitive examinations in future.

Education paves the way towards moulding a bright career, and search of such education becomes complete if one steps into the arena of Reliance College Jr. Golaghat. Besides imparting education, Reliance College upgrades the confidence level of each student to combat the world with a positive attitude.

The college is imparting education relating to all the three streams – Arts, Science and Commerce. Value based education inculcates in students a spirit of service, nationalism, patriotism, secularism, equality, democracy, scientific temper etc. Success in these areas depends to a great extent upon the skills and ability of the teachers. Reliance College comprises of highly experienced faculty members whose attitude towards the students is very positive. They pour all their efforts to mould their characters and academic qualities. Further, our non-teaching staff members also work with their utmost sincerity.

The year 2013 become a landmark in the history of our college, as one of our students named Miss Ananya Saikia secured the first rank in Arts Stream in the H.S.S.L.C. Final Examination, held in 2013. She also secured 100 marks out of 100 in Economics in the same year.

Again, in 2016, Prerona Hazarika brought laurel to our college by securing the 8th position in Science Stream in the H.S.S.L.C. Final Examination, 2016.

In 2020, another excellent student Gyandeep Dowerah has brought laurels to our college by securing 4th position in HS Final Exam 2020 in the Commerce Stream.

With spontaneous hard-work, sincerity and devotion of all our students, we expect more brilliant results in the coming years.

We are proud to announce that our students showed excellency in the entrance examinations for Medical and Engineering courses conducted every year. In fact, they are made prepared to face any written test or oral interview held for 10+2 category in and outside Assam.
